From the website link on mother’s day facts, trivia and lore; Mother’s Day is celebrated in over 50 countries of the world.  Many counties the day is celebrated in May, but in some countries it is held on a completely different month of the year.  And for whatever reason, the vast majority of languages worldwide, the word “mother” begins with the letter “m”  It is almost universal and very fascinating.

Whether it is a doctor, lawyer or president, nearly every successful person attributes their success due to the influences of their mother.  Abraham Lincoln quoted, “All that I am or ever hope to be, I owe to my angel mother”  A Jewish Proverb says “God could not be everywhere, therefore He made mothers.”  Tenneva Jordon quotes, ” A mother is a person seeing there is only 4 pieces of pie for 5 people, promptly announces she never did care for pie”. And from Sophia Loren, “When you are alone you are never alone in your thoughts.  A mother always has to think twice, once for herself and once for her child”.  Our mother’s are like modern day superheroes.

Our mothers are not perfect.  They are human like the rest of us.  And for some Mother’s Day might be difficult.  But today in Canada we honour and acknowledge them for all they are, and all they have done for us.  An anonymous quote says, “A man’s work is from sun to sun but a mother’s work is never done”.  Happy Mother’s Day to all the mom’s…..and THANK YOU!  “Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: many women do noble things, but you surpass them all” Proverbs 31:30
